What are the characteristics of a Beagle?

Beagles are hard, sturdy and small hounded dogs. The beagle has a sleek, easy-care, short coat in red, white, orange, or a lemony color. The coat is very close but a medium length. The skull on this dog is broad and slightly rounded. The feet are round and strong. The nose is usually dark or black brown. The long wide ears are pendant. They have brown or hazel eyes. They always look mysterious eyes. The tail is carried nicely but never curled. The beagles are very gentle and sweet loving dogs to get along with. THIS DOG JUST LOVES EVERYONE! They are brave for there not too big of body and intelligent.  Excellent with children and generally good with other dogs! Very good guard dogs and they love to hunt for little animals and creatures. They are very energetic but need a lot of exercise. A daily walk will cover  but needs to play a lot and run around. They live to at least 15 years of age.
